How do you descale your kettle?
Over time, limescale deposits build up on the bottom of your kettle. To prevent these deposits from getting into your coffee and having an unpleasant effect on the taste, you should descale your kettle regularly. Here you can find out how to do this.
- Fill your kettle with an equal amount of water and household vinegar up to half or to the top traces of lime.
- Bring the water-vinegar mixture to a boil once and then let it soak for 30 minutes.
- Empty the kettle and rinse it thoroughly with cold water.
- Alternatively, you can use citric acid to descale your kettle. Two tablespoons are sufficient for this.
